Family & Friends,
I’m thrilled to share a special update with you from Atlanta as we prepare a milestone shipment for our children in Bo Town, Sierra Leone! Over the past few days, Elgin and I have been packing barrels and loading a container with essentials to support our kids. [See the video below for a glimpse of the process—barrels packed to the brim in our garage!] We’ve included everything from snacks like mac and cheese (a new favorite for the kids!) to fabrics for curtains and sheets, plus a television for educational movies like Facing the Giants. We even packed work tools and shoes to prepare for the rainy season, which has already started earlier than expected.
What makes this shipment truly exciting is the inclusion of solar panels—a huge step forward for EKMOI. For the first time, our children will have 24-hour light and power at the orphanage, something they’ve never had before.
We’re also shipping a mini van to use as transportation for the children, helping them get to school and activities safely. Once the solar panels are installed and the van arrives, it will transform their daily lives, making learning, living, and traveling so much easier. The shipment is set to roll out the first week of April, and we’re praying it arrives by the end of May or June, just in time for the new school year in September.
Your love, prayers, and financial support have made this possible, and we’re so grateful. We’ll keep you updated once everything arrives in Sierra Leone. Together, we’re bringing light and hope to our children—thank you for being part of this journey!
In His Service,
Maseray Young
