I am absolutely overjoyed to share the most incredible news with you all: we finally have light! After so much planning, work, and prayer, the new solar power system at the orphanage in Sierra Leone is officially installed and operational.
It has been a long journey to get to this point. From anxiously waiting for our shipment to the excitement of the van and equipment finally arriving, and getting so close to installation, this has been a project fueled by faith. This is a monumental moment for us, bringing a new dawn of hope and opportunity to every single child and woman under my care.
For years, we have operated at the mercy of the setting sun. But now, our amazing technicians have just completed the full setup of a professional, robust solar power system. This includes the solar panels, a powerful bank of batteries, and all the essential Victron components. Inverters, charge controllers, and monitoring screens are all working to provide clean, stable, and reliable electricity to our building. The control panel is lit up, and the system is running!

It is truly difficult for me to express in words what this new power system means for us. This is so much more than just light bulbs. This is security, as our compound will now be safely lit at night, protecting the children. This is education, as our students can now study, read, and complete their homework in the evenings without straining their eyes by candlelight. Their dreams are no longer limited by the daylight.
This is also about dignity, allowing us to power fans for relief from the oppressive heat and to charge essential devices to stay connected. This light represents a brighter future in the most literal sense possible, replacing the darkness with clean, quiet, and sustainable energy.
I want to be perfectly clear: this incredible milestone is a victory we all share. This is a perfect example of what we can achieve when we work together. Every single one of you who has supported EKMOI made this moment possible. None of this, not one wire, not one panel, not one bright light, would be here without your unwavering support, your generous gifts, and your powerful prayers.
